How to install Windows 7/XP/vista from USB Pendrive
Most people faces lots of problem installing another operating system on their computer using ROM, especially notebook users faces this kind of problem than those using normal Laptops and Desktops computer, Faulty CD / DVD ROM drive. But fret not because on this tutorial am going to unveil how to install OS on a computer without CD ROM

Here it goes:

step 1: Run command prompt. This will be done by clicking on start and then click on run. Type “cmd” without the quotes and click ok.

Command prompt will show like this

Step 2: Type “diskpart” on command prompt and press enter. This will run the diskpart utility as shown in image below:



Step 3: Insert USB/pendrive in any USB port. Remember that your USB/pen drive should be at least 4 GB, 8 GB USB/pendrive before using it. Now return to the diskpart console and type “listdisk” without the quotes and press enter. This may list the different storage devices available. You’ll see the size column of the disk but here ‘disk 2′ is our USB/pen drive.

Note: In your PC it may be some other number e.g. disk 3, disk 4 e.t.c



Step 4: Type “select disk 2″ and press enter. Type your own disk number if it’s different from mine.

Step 5: Then run some commands that I listed below
- Clean, create partition primary, select partition 1, active, format fs=fat32


Step 6: After the format completed you’ve to run “assign” command. And after this you can exit diskpart utility by entering the “exit” command.



Step 7: When the format is complete, insert your original “Windows 7 DVD” in your DVD drive, or if you’ve an .iso image of the DVD, Mount that .iso image using “power ISO”.

- Now open My Computer, and open the contents of DVD Drive. Select all contents and copy all the contents
- Now open the USB Pen drive and press paste all the contents of DVD into the USB Disk.

Step 8: Once the copy finishes

Step 9: Plug your USB/Pendrive

Step 10: Restart your computer. 

Step 11: Go into the BIOS setup by pressing the Delete/F2/F10/Escape key. 

Step 12: In the BIOS setup, select your flash drive as the first boot device.


Step 13: Save settings and exit
Step 14: Windows setup will load. Install Windows by following the on-screen instructions.
